Motorcyclist Killed in Queens Boulevard Box Truck Crash
Police said 42-year-old Diego Sesta was killed at about 6:08 a.m. on Aug. 10, 2022, on Queens Boulevard after he made contact with the side of a box truck and went under it.

A rider was thrown and went under a truck
The city crash record says a 42-year-old male motorcycle rider was killed at 6:08 a.m. on Aug. 10, 2022, on Queens Boulevard in a collision involving a motorcycle and a box truck.
QNS, citing police, identified the rider as Diego Sesta. Police said he made contact with the side of a moving box truck on the Queens Boulevard service road, was thrown from the motorcycle, went under the truck and was taken by EMS to Elmhurst Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
The published accounts disagree on direction: one QNS report said Sesta was westbound, while another said eastbound. The city crash record lists both the motorcycle rider and the box-truck driver traveling west before the crash.

QNS identified the motorcyclist as Diego Sesta, 42, of Lamont Avenue in Elmhurst. The city crash record lists the person killed as the motorcycle's driver.
Queens Boulevard service road in Woodside
The crash was recorded on Queens Boulevard. QNS placed it on the Queens Boulevard service road near 58th Street and also described the crash site as in front of the Big Six Towers at 59-55 47th Ave.
QNS described the corridor as the so-called "Boulevard of Death."
The truck driver stayed at the scene
Police said the box-truck driver remained at the scene. QNS reported that no arrests had been made and that the NYPD Highway District's Collision Investigation Squad was investigating.
