Trucker Dies After Medical Episode in Maspeth Crash

Police said Stephen Roy Bennington was driving south on Grand Avenue just after 10:30 a.m. when he lost control after a medical incident, mounted the sidewalk, and hit a cement pillar and street light.

The driver was identified as Stephen Roy Bennington

The truck was traveling south on Grand Avenue

Officers and EMS responded
Officers from the 104th Precinct responded to a 911 call and found Bennington unconscious and unresponsive with trauma to his body, according to QNS. EMS took him to Elmhurst Hospital Center, where he was pronounced dead.
At the time of the QNS report, police said the investigation remained ongoing.
