The crash on 73rd Avenue
Police said officers from the 107th Precinct responded to a 911 call just before 4 p.m. on Dec. 9 and found Majer Rosenfeld, 82, lying on the roadway with severe head trauma on 73rd Avenue near Francis Lewis Boulevard.
A preliminary NYPD investigation said a 52-year-old woman driving a 2022 BMW X4 east on 73rd Avenue hit Rosenfeld as he crossed north to south mid-block just east of Francis Lewis Boulevard. The city crash record lists the driver as going straight ahead in a BMW SUV.
Majer Rosenfeld died at the hospital
Rosenfeld, an 82-year-old Kew Gardens Hills resident, was taken by EMS to NewYork-Presbyterian Queens Hospital and died there on Dec. 28, according to police.
The official crash record identifies the person killed as an 82-year-old male pedestrian and records no other injuries.
Near Francis Lewis Boulevard and Cunningham Park
Police reported the crash on 73rd Avenue in the vicinity of Francis Lewis Boulevard in Fresh Meadows, near Cunningham Park.
Police placed Rosenfeld’s crossing mid-block, just east of Francis Lewis Boulevard, and the official record lists the pedestrian location as away from an intersection.
