Driver in Peterbilt Truck Kills Lawrence Carrara in Belmont
A 38-year-old driver in a 2016 Peterbilt flatbed truck hit and killed 69-year-old Lawrence Carrara on East Fordham Road in Belmont on Aug. 7, 2023, police said.

Police said a 38-year-old man driving a 2016 Peterbilt truck was traveling west in the right lane of the East Fordham Road exit ramp near Southern Boulevard at about 1:18 p.m. on Aug. 7, 2023. Police described a westbound driver and a crossing pedestrian
Police said the driver was heading west in the right travel lane of the East Fordham Road exit ramp, approaching Southern Boulevard, when Carrara attempted to cross from north to south outside a marked crosswalk. Police said the driver hit Carrara with the truck's left front corner, knocking him onto the roadway.
