Moped Rider Dies After Swerving on Grand Concourse

Family remembered Garcia and described risky riding
The Daily News identified the rider as Eliseo Garcia. His grandmother, Ana Rosa Duarte, told the paper, “He drove very fast,” and said, “No, he didn’t wear a helmet.”
Good Samaritans tried to comfort Garcia at the scene, the Daily News reported. Paramedics took him to St. Barnabas Hospital, where police said he was pronounced dead.
Police sought the other driver
Norwood News, citing police, reported that the other driver did not remain at the scene and that the NYPD Highway District’s Collision Investigation Squad was investigating. Police asked anyone with information to contact Crime Stoppers.
