Norwood News identified Ramos-Robles as Jonathan “Baby Jay” Ramos from Norwood, a father of three young children. A cousin told the outlet, “We will always remember my cousin as the proud father he was, and hard worker.”
Norwood News reported that his wife remained in critical condition at St. Barnabas Hospital. Other early reports described the injured person as a 42-year-old female passenger.
Sources disagreed on the Honda Odyssey’s model year
City vehicle data lists the vehicle as a 2012 minivan traveling north with two occupants. Daily News and News 12 reported that Ramos-Robles was driving a Honda Odyssey, while Norwood News reported, citing NYPD officials, that it was a 2022 Honda Odyssey.
Speed was recorded as a factor while investigators reviewed the crash
City crash data lists unsafe speed as a contributing factor. Police accounts in the reviewed reports said Ramos-Robles lost control or failed to properly navigate the roadway before impact.
Norwood News also reported a local taxi driver’s concern that roadwork, manhole covers and other obstacles in the area could affect drivers. The outlet said DOT referred questions to the NYPD, and that the NYPD Highway District Collision Investigation Squad was investigating.
Family members planned services and asked for support
Norwood News reported that funeral services were scheduled for Nov. 20 at Ortiz Funeral Home on the Grand Concourse, and that the family asked for privacy during the service. The outlet also reported that relatives set up a fundraiser to help with funeral costs and support for the children.
