Hit-and-run driver killed 72-year-old on Marine Avenue

News 12 reported that neighbors said speeding by drivers is common in the area and that there are few to no speed cameras.
The woman was crossing the street
The official record describes the woman as a pedestrian crossing outside an intersection, without a signal or crosswalk. The Daily News reported that she was pulling a cart, and a witness said she “was just peacefully crossing the street.”
Gothamist reported that police said she suffered trauma to her head and body and was pronounced dead at the scene.
