Family members described him as a calm, family-oriented father of three and said they believed there was more to the story after seeing no facial or body trauma that matched a motorcycle crash, but noticing bruised wrists they believed could have come from handcuffs.
Police told News 12 that Alfonso was not arrested at the scene. They said he was conscious and spoke with officers when they arrived, then began to look weaker. Police also said they believed he had a “medical episode,” while saying it was not clear whether it happened before or after the crash.
The records describe the vehicles differently
The official vehicle records classify Alfonso’s vehicle as a 2018 moped traveling north and list a 2023 Kia SUV traveling west and a parked 2022 Honda SUV. News 12, citing police, described Alfonso as a motorcycle driver and said he collided with one SUV and then a parked car.
Police denied a pursuit was connected
