Police Say MTA Bus Driver Killed Woman Crossing in Queens
A westbound bus driver failed to yield while turning left at Baisley Boulevard and Bedell Street, according to the official record; police said an MTA driver hit 31-year-old Amesha Keys and left the scene.

Police told PIX11 that an MTA bus driver was making a left turn onto southbound Bedell Street near Baisley Boulevard when the driver hit Amesha Keys, 31. The report said she was taken to a hospital and died there.

Police said the driver did not remain at the scene
PIX11 reported that police said the MTA bus driver did not remain at the scene. An MTA spokesperson told PIX11 that the driver passed drug or alcohol tests and had been suspended while police investigated.
Keys lived on Baisley Boulevard, according to PIX11. Her family described her in a GoFundMe post as a loving mother, daughter, sister and friend, and wrote, "Her smile brought comfort and joy to all of those lucky enough to have experienced it."
