Driver Dies After Bronx Thruway Crash With Parked Tractor-Trailer

Police and news reports placed the crash on the southbound New England Thruway, the I-95 corridor in the East Bronx, near Baychester Avenue and west of Co-op City. Officers from the 47th Precinct responded after a 911 call about the collision.
Edwin Seixas was pronounced dead at Jacobi
Police identified the driver as Edwin Seixas, 40, of Norwalk, Connecticut. EMS took him to Jacobi Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.
The records identify a Dodge Journey and a tractor-trailer
Police said Seixas was driving a 2016 Dodge Journey. The official crash record lists the other vehicle as a 2018 diesel tractor truck that was parked with no occupants, and lists the Dodge as traveling south with one occupant.
