The child was taken to a hospital and died
Medics took the child to NewYork-Presbyterian Queens Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, according to police accounts cited by the news reports. The NY Post and Patch identified him as Imron Bakhtiyorov; QNS identified him as Imron Bahkhtiyorov, using a different spelling.
The NY Post reported that the child was hit in front of his parents and lived around the corner. QNS reported that police found his parents shaken at the garage.
The driver stayed as police investigated
Police said the BMW driver remained at the scene. The NY Post reported that he was not charged, while Patch reported there had been no arrests as of Monday morning and QNS said the NYPD Highway District’s Collision Investigation Squad was investigating.
