Police said officers responded around 10:37 p.m. Monday to East 127th Street and Second Avenue, where they found a 53-year-old pedestrian in the roadway with severe head and body injuries. EMS took him to Harlem Hospital, where he died.
The Daily News reported that police said the man had been standing at the corner before he fell into the roadway and the driver ran over him. Patch reported a different sequence from police, saying the driver was heading downtown on Second Avenue when he hit the pedestrian, causing him to fall.
