Police from the 116th Precinct responded around 1:20 a.m. to a 911 call about a collision at 247th Street and South Conduit Avenue. NYPD investigators said Lecorps was driving east on South Conduit Avenue in a 2020 gray Honda Pilot when the crash involved an impact with a tree.
Shapiro Lecorps was identified by police
The NYPD identified the driver as Shapiro Lecorps, 52, a Richmond Hill native who lived on Elm Street in Malverne. Police said he suffered severe trauma, and EMS took him to Jamaica Hospital Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead a short time later.
A crash near the precinct station house
The collision happened at 247th Street and South Conduit Avenue in Rosedale, less than a block from the 116th Precinct station house on North Conduit Avenue, according to QNS.
